WHAT IS YOUR PASSION?

What is your passion? For me, it’s all of the little things that make life beautiful. I love to do so many things.  I'm kind of like a squirrel who falls into a bag of mixed nuts.  I love them all, but the one in my hand at that moment is my all time favorite. So for my newest "nut", I will write about my passions.

So what are those passions, you might ask?  I know you didn't, but I still need you to keep reading.  I am placing these in no specific order because they are all my most favorite things at some point or another in a day in the life of DJ.

I love to read.  I am a huge fan of Nora Roberts/J.D.Robb.  As Marie Kondo might say, her books "spark joy" for me.  One of my bucket list items is to visit Inn Boonsboro in Boonsboro, MD and attend one of Nora's book signings at her bookstore Turn the Page.  I love fantasy as well, J.R.R. Tolkien, R.A. Salvatore,  and Marissa Meyer are some of my favorite authors that popped into my head.

I love doing photography.  I got my first DSLR in 2012 and have been a mom version of the paparazzi ever since.  I am not the greatest at remembering what function I need to use and when, but I get extremely happy when capturing the life around me.

I love officiating weddings!  I have been an officiant since 2011. There is nothing more satisfying than watching two people, so in love, commit themselves to each other.

I love to cook!  I switched to being a vegetarian in 2018 to help with my health issues, and my daughter joined me and we haven't looked back, but my husband and son sure miss all of the really meaty meals I used to make.

I love animals.  We have too many but they are all loved.  We have dogs, cats, horses, and rats currently, but we have also had rabbits, mice, hamsters, and fish. If we lived on a farm those would be joined by many other creatures I'm sure.

I love genealogy, camping, traveling, music, volunteering, gaming, horseback riding, pretending I know how to garden, and being out in the great outdoors whether it's walking in the forest or just sitting in the shade reading.

DJ's Ramblings is truly my own little passion project that will allow me to share with others the things that make my life a little bit happier.  I hope you enjoy browsing my site and all of the unique content I have to offer. Take a look around; perhaps you’ll discover your passions as well. Read on and enjoy!
